About
Ninth grade marks the beginning of high school and heralds the transition from adolescence into adulthood. The Coming of Age program creates a supportive environment where youth explore big questions, reflect on their beliefs, and confidently make decisions rooted in their values. Youth explore their religious and/or spiritual beliefs alongside adult mentors and congregational leaders. Coming of Age youth transform their beliefs into action through community service, engaging social justice, and building spiritual practices as they develop language to express their personal beliefs. This year, 9th graders will be welcome into the Youth Group from the start, and COA meetings will take place as ‘Breakout Sessions’ during the Youth Group meetings beginning in October. We are also be opening up our Breakout Sessions to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who did not participate in COA in the past, but would like to this year! Credos will be presented in the Spring. Registration is required. The fee is $150.00 per youth for the year and scholarships are available. Questions? Interested in joining COA? Contact youthprogram@uubelmont.org
